The Perfect Wedding Show…was perfect!

By Raven-Paige Wilkinson

On Sunday, January 16, 2012, I attended The Perfect Wedding Show, presented by The Brampton Guardian and The Mississauga News.  The Mississauga Convention Centre was the ideal venue to host this show.  Although I was excited at the opportunity to attend, I was uncertain about what to expect.   I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and greatly impressed with how effortlessly each activity flowed into the next.

The location was perfect in décor and size, and easily accommodated all who were attendance. On my arrival I was greeted by a young man, dressed in a full tuxedo, whose charm and helpfulness was commendable.  He opened the door for me and led me to the registration desk.  I briefly scanned the gorgeous foyer before being warmly welcomed by the ladies at the table.  The registration process was smooth and efficient.  I received a “goodie” bag filled with wedding magazines and planning guides, and a ballot to enter my name into a draw to win one of the many prizes.

I then headed into the salons, anticipating what was ahead.  I entered one of the rooms and I suddenly became overwhelmed by the number of anxious brides and their supportive friends and families.  However, I eagerly weaved through the crowd, managing to stop at an assortment of displays, listening to the exhibitors’ sales pitches, and sampling some of their products.  I collected a few more flyers and advertisements before moving over to the salon that hosted one of the three fashion shows being held throughout the day. Inside this room there was a bevy of brides-to-be, whose excitement could be felt in every corner of the room. The models were beautiful and elegant, showcasing wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses that were unique and stunning.   The men were handsome as they modeled their tuxedos and suits from various stores and boutiques.  The Master of Ceremony was enthusiastic and bubbly, as she described the gowns, and gave tips on planning a wedding.  The show was very well organized and entertaining, and was complemented by popular music playing in the background.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to The Perfect Wedding Show.  It offered variety, was organized, and delivered great ideas and products that will help make planning for a wedding less stressful.  I look forward to attending it next year and would recommend it to anyone.
